MEET ROMILA

About Me

Hi, I’m Romila, the founder and creative voice behind Painted Meadow Designs. I shape outdoor spaces and home environments that feel calm, grounded, and deeply personal. Based in the California Bay Area, my work is rooted in landscape architecture and spans from early concept design through construction drawings, installation, and beyond.

Design, for me, is about feeling. I pay close attention to mood, season, and texture, creating spaces that invite ease and connection. Painted Meadow is where thoughtful design meets real life.

I work on residential landscape design, planting & lighting layouts, and home styling projects, often blending natural textures with a quiet, modern aesthetic. Alongside client work, I’m building a collection of digital products that share the tools, methods, and creative process behind my design practice in a more accessible way.

Every space is rooted in care, for the land, the home, and the people who live there. Collaboration is at the heart of my process. I listen closely to how my clients want to live and shape spaces that reflect their pace, values, and vision.

When I’m not designing, I find inspiration in travel, pottery, reading, gardening, swimming, and spending time with my husband and our two dogs: Meadow and Amalfi. These quiet joys keep me connected to the world around me and remind me to notice the details.

If you’d like to explore a project together or have a question about my work, I’d love to connect.
